Practice News Update:

We are very excited and honoured to have Dr. Norris Lam join our practice in September 2009. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and skills which will complement our existing services. She will be accepting new patients after September 1, 2009. She is a published author and continues to participate at various professional meeting and conferences.

Dr. Ng is scheduled to speak to Ontario Pharmacists in June 2009 on the advances in dry eye care and current treatments in Age-Related Macular Degeneration.

Three new contact lenses have been added to the practice. These are silicone hydrogel lenses which will allow people to sleep safely with their lenses on. They are available for all types of prescriptions including astigmatism and presbyopia (goodbye reading glasses!).

At the end of May 2009, Dr. Ng was a participant in a unique forum where 10 Ontario eye doctors participated in a weekend retreat to discuss the future of the contact lenses industry in the next 5 to 10 years.

In April 2009, Dr. Ng had the opportunity to meet 50 young optometrists in the GTA to discuss the many challenges that face young practitioners today. Information was shared on how to keep your practice healthy in tough economic times - "It comes down to caring for your patients the best you can and everything else will fall into place.".

Our office continues to be part of the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry externship program. All of our doctors tirelessly volunteer their time and resources to help train the future eye doctors of tomorrow.
